I believe you would have to replace everything in the source & rebuild the engine. You can always just not use any of the pre-made stuff in your game. The engine's .jar file will have the content built into it, but it won't actually show up in your game. If you need some free assets, check out OpenGameArt.org.

In the past for me, this usually has happened when a tileset image is incompatible, perhaps wrong dimensions. Not sure if that would be the issue if the assets were working previously. You might try running the game from the command line & see if there is any error output.

A new site to host the forum?
I haven't had any issues with this one, personally.

It looks like there may be an incompatible image. Perhaps check the dimensions of any tilesets you have added.

I have created an unofficial IRC chat channel on the Freenode network. The channel is #rpgboss if anyone would like to join. I am hoping that tommycli will want to take it over & make it an official channel.

Are you using any external resources? I've had similar problems when using some images or sound files that that didn't come with RPGBoss. It's currently kind of buggy. Hope it gets fixed soon.

You would need to download the source code to edit the images. The resources are found here: github.com/rpgboss/rpgboss/tree/master/core/src/main/resources/defaultrcIf you don't want to have to recompile RPGBoss, just copy the images to your game directory. Edit: It may be possible to extract the resources from the editor-min.jar. Java jar files are just renamed zip archives. Edit: I just tested it. I extracted the contents of editor-min.jar (I used 7-zip) & the resources are located in the sub-directory defaultrc.

This is a list of free sprites that I have found that are 32x48 & should work well with RPGBoss:

Edit: I apologize. Cabbit's sprites do not work well with RPGBoss like I thought they would. I thought that the current default sprites were 24x32. But that is not the case. They are 32x48. Cabbit's sprites appear very small when used with 32x32 tilesets. It would take quite a lot of editing to get them to look nice. I want to recommend Cabbit's sprites & derivatives for use with RPGBoss. I have actually already begun creating a branch/fork where I plan to replace the default sprites with these. Sprite dimensions are compatible, but frame ordering will need to be changed. The bases are licensed under Creative Commons Zero (CC0). Complete sprites are licensed under OpenGameArt.org Attribution (OGA BY) / Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) version 3.0. Here are some links where these sprites can be downloaded:
